Creatine is a naturally occurring compound found in muscle cells and is commonly used as a supplement to enhance athletic performance and increase muscle mass. It is made from three amino acids: arginine, glycine, and methionine. • Loading Phase (Optional): Some people choose to do a “loading phase” where they take 20 grams of creatine per day (in 4 doses) for 5–7 days to saturate their muscles quickly.
• Maintenance Phase: After loading, the typical dose is 3–5 grams per day for maintenance.
• Without Loading Phase: Alternatively, you can skip the loading phase and take 3–5 grams per day from the start. This will still result in muscle saturation, but it will take longer (about 3–4 weeks).
